Allan is an engineering enthusiast of many interests including aircraft, telescopes, cycling gear, and mining equipment. His fundamental challenge of life is to turn dreams into reality, and open doors to amazing possibilities. Gold prospecting captured his interests as a young boy. Here, he gives an account of his first experience:
“One particular summer in the early 1970’s, our family was camping in the mountains, and we were by stream fishing for trout to make dinner. The next part of this vision I’m about share with you is as vivid today as it was over 50 years ago! I was more interested in catching gold than fish and kept pestering my mother about it. Finally, after multiple attempts, mother threw down her pole, grabbed a large metal dish pan in one hand, grabbed me by the wrist with the other, and dragged me down to the water’s edge. She thrust the pan into the gravels and violently swished around until most of the material had fallen out! “See, there’s no gold here,” She cried in a loud voice! “And don’t bother me anymore!” She threw the pan down and went back to her fishing pole. In that moment a tremendous and powerful feeling came over me, for I had witnessed the first time in my life an actual “live” panning. Even though the technique was very rugged, and we didn’t find any shiny, the hook was set, and the “Gold Fever” was on full force!!”
A few years later Allan did successfully found gold in a river a few miles from his home. Over the years, Allan met many fellow prospectors and ventured throughout the West searching for gold. He also tried his hand at lode mining. Even though he didn’t get rich, he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. “I want to be successful in all of my endeavors, no matter how daunting the challenge may appear. I know with hard work and diligence all things can be made possible in the end. To this end is the pinnacle of my creation. It is my moto.”
Over a short few years, Allan has been working diligently to develop a desert wash plant that meets all the necessary needs and conditions for maximum gold recovery then simplifies its use for the prospector enthusiast. Many dollars and countless hours of research and development regarding each aspect of this project have created a premier recovery device called the Gold Rattler.
“I believe the Gold Rattler to be the ultimate desert wash plant, bridging the gap between the Serious Prospector and Small Mine Operator. No other machine on the market can match or exceed its performance!”
